N. 12th Street, Philadelphia, caught by surprise
I stopped to take a picture of Tweed Restaurant to send to my good friend, nicknamed Agent Tweed for reasons I won’t go into here (suffice it to say someone else was named “Agent Orange” first). Anyway, this guy stopped me and asked, “Are you going to publish that?” This was a bit odd – someone else had stopped me ten minutes prior to ask, “You gonna put that on the internet? I hear you can do that these days.” So I’m thinking, maybe Philadelphia just doesn’t do smartphones, or technology, or something. Maybe I was just looking particularly endearing (though more likely lost).
Anyway, this guy with great hair and the corduroy jacket stops and asks if I’m going to publish the picture. I try to explain to him about Agent Tweed but it gets confusing, so then I just say, “I don’t really know, but here, I can take another without you in the picture, that way if I put it on the web you won’t be in it.” He shows me this newspaper he’s holding and it turns out a photo of him has just been published in the Weekly Press, a local paper in Philly. And then he turns around, gets right next to the restaurant, and poses so I can take another picture!
Perhaps this man, Mr. Holm, will be my start in the street fashion blog world. I loved the pocket square and matching tie, and thought his chosen colors and textures were nice complements. Cranberry with brown corduroy was a particularly great choice. He also has a great barber.
More from my wanderings around Philadelphia soon…

I love that he is holding up the paper as if there was some urgent news or there were hostages inside.
but you still never told tweed about it
